Web Marketing Tips and Tricks
I am employed by from an online marketing firm, so I would like to think that I know a bit about web marketing. You almost certainly came here to learn a bit about how you can use web marketing to increase traffic for your company. While I don’t feel that a short article is the right place to cover too much, I can at least tell you a few things so you know what to look for.
So, would you like to get on first page of Google? Not just for your name, of course, but for whatever it is your business does. Well, the sad fact is, we all want that. Getting your page there is a process called search engine optimization, sometimes called SEO. It is a complex process, but really it’s about tweaking the content on your website while working to get people to link to you.
You probably have already heard about social media marketing, so I’ll leave this section short. Basically, you want to get a large number people to like your page on Facebook and then convert them into customers. Getting people is usually accomplished through of Facebook ads, and the conversion is best accomplished by engaging your fans with enticing, exciting content like sales, surveys, questions, or contests.
Of course, one of the backbones of web marketing is website design. Getting people to check you out is meaningless if they don’t have anything good to see, they’re not going to buy anything! Be certain that your site is pretty, follows web protocol and, most importantly is easy to navigate. Nobody wants to take the effort to slog through a difficult website, so make sure that it’s clean and clear.
Finally, you should be working to get your website listed as many places as possible. Not only will this aid you with SEO, it’s great for getting people to come to you. Are there any professional organizations that you can join? Are there any Wikipedia pages you can edit to include yourself (only if it makes sense, of course)? Are there places where you feel that your customers like to hang out? Make sure that your website is there!
